Review on AcuRite 06044M Wireless Temperature Humidity by Charles Collier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with Acurite Access, but silently crashes when the batteries are low.

I purchased one of these sensors to complement my Acurite Access & Atlas system. I use it to control room temperature and humidity. I've had it for about a month now and so far it's working well and seems pretty accurate. One limitation is that after a few weeks of not showing a low battery indicator, it began to "fall off" from the Acurite Access system. Restart/reset didn't help. It wasn't until I replaced the batteries with new ones that it worked properly again - ie weak batteries can give bad results, even if the display doesn't show a low battery level. I have a feeling this device can drain batteries quickly since the non-display counterparts use 2 AA batteries (rather than AAA). Note that they are listed as "tower" sensors in the Acurite Access interface, which I think is quite strange. , making it difficult to distinguish them from other indoor/outdoor sensors, also known as "towers".
