UPDATE: This is not as waterproof as advertised. I was using it for a couple hours in a very light drizzle, more like a gentle mist, and when I opened the back charging port to charge it at the end of the night, the port was really wet inside. I had the orange plastic piece secured all night, and checked it several times over the evening, because I was nervous about water getting inside. The light still worked just fine, but, the plastic/rubber piece over the charging port did NOT keep water out. At all.Original review: Bought this for my volunteer project, where we help spotted salamanders and other amphibians cross roads to breed in the vernal pools. On rainy nights in April, we stand on the side of the road, and watch for movement - salamanders are between 5”-8” Long, and mostly black, so they’re super hard to see, especially when it’s raining hard. A good flashlight is essential! I bought this style because it has a very pointed light, that splays nicely across the road surface.I’ve only used it a couple nights, but so far it’s fantastic. It’s super easy to use - just one button, press once for bright, second time for less-bright, then off. No complicated click pattern, just high/low/off. The strap is useful too, I wear it cross-body and don’t even need to hold it.To be honest, This does not feel like the most sturdy, well-build product I’ve ever bought. But, it was one of the cheapest options in this category, and so far has held up well. It’s pretty light weight, but I’m used to a 9V heavy flashlight. I have yet to drop it, but am trying to be gentle with it because the plastic does feel cheap. But again, I could have spent a lot more money for a marginally better product, and this one works just fine.
