Review on πŸ’¨ Corsair Dominator Platinum Airflow RGB LED Memory Fan Cooling: Enhance Your System's Performance and Style with CMDAF2 by Peter Green

No screws; does not fit

The first bump in the road I encountered was after reading the "instructions" and the fact that I had to bolt the legs to the fans with screws. Screws that weren't included. I tried a dozen different types and couldn't find one that matched the themes. I settled with duct tape wrapped tightly around where the legs attached to the fans. It's wrong, but it works. Then when I went to attach the whole mechanism to my RAM, I found that my CPU cooler tubes were in the way and I had to unplug, rotate and reinstall them on mine. CPU (not something I would recommend unless you know exactly what you are doing). After that I put fans on my RAM and it almost didn't freeze even though I have Corsair memory. So again I had to improvise and put industrial strength double sided tape where the legs meet the RAM terminals. ALTHOUGH I HAVE RUNNING ALL THESE PROBLEMS, the fans are working! I had trouble launching some games without significant lag. After all this ordeal, it seems to have paid off and the games are running smoothly. I gave this product 3 stars for functionality but had to drop 2 stars due to the difficult installation and lack of screws.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Operating speed
