Review on 🚤 SEAFLO 12v 750GPH Automatic Submersible Boat Bilge Water Pump with Float Switch - Effortless and Reliable Water Removal by John Castle

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Worked great for a year and a half

First rating was 5, now it's 2. Just broke after a season and a half. Not that it stopped working. He wouldn't stop. I needed an automatic bilge pump and it worked very, very well until last week when I decided it wouldn't shut off. I ended up having to disconnect it from the battery, essentially making it a manual version that's very difficult to turn on and off. I'm switching to another brand that isn't as powerful but has a better warranty. My 20 year old boat has a stupid design that requires rain to be pumped out by the bilge pump. Last year I nearly drowned the boat when the hold drained the battery (probably because it didn't shut off then either). The boat took on over 1,800 pounds of water and was about to sink. I switched to a different battery (fortunately I have backup batteries) and it took me 20 minutes of continuous use to pump out the water. The replacement costs a few bucks more and doesn't pump as many gallons per hour, but I'm fine with that as long as it keeps the boat from sinking.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
