Great alternative to copper tubing

I originally wanted to use copper tubing and fittings and a friend of mine mentioned seeing a type of "blue pipe" that they used in their work. After a little research I came across the RapidAir Maxline. I did a lot of research and watched a few videos before purchasing. I finally settled on 1/2" because I only have a home shop and don't need a larger diameter as I only use basic hand tools and only use one tool at a time. I installed the system in my garage. It was a bit tedious, because i wanted it to look perfect so i routed it from one side of the garage to the back wall, through the back wall and on the other side to connect the hoses you need to make a drop 4 feet off the ground in the middle of the back wall I attached a retractable hose to the ceiling. In the back corner I installed a compressor as well as a regulator and some pressure gauges. Used 3 turns of teflon tape with a thin layer of pipe grease and tightened everything up well. I had no leaks at all when I put the system under pressure for the first time and it has held the same pressure for 2 days in a row, so Thursday o I don't see any problems with Undic skills. d 2+ days for the installation but that's because I made sure everything was perfectly level and also moved everything around the garage while I worked. I think copper pipe would last longer and cost more. I used a 1/2" pipe bender to make the corners but it didn't hold up very well. However, there was the base for the corner and once you get it into the brackets it holds it in place well. I would recommend having some help - it can be difficult to hold and maneuver over long distances, but it can be done on my own, as I did. Please note that you will need clamps (which are not included in this set are included) as well as a regulator and some other fittings.I needed an extra Maxline tee, some other copper fittings and a ball valve to get the system set up the way I wanted.Overall I'm very happy with the results.later to add to my basement store.
