BUYER ATTENTION! This isn't the first time I've walked around the block with a filter system like this from the same brand. I had one a few years ago that was accidentally wrecked when moving house. And for the first time, removing what this company calls the "housing" (the top of the cover that holds the filter) was fairly easy, no tools required. But not at this point! Someone at their factory made it almost impossible to remove this damn thing, which would have to be done to replace the original filter with a new one. After trying everything my handy friend and I could think of, including borrowing the right wrench (as recommended), we ended up having to take the whole block to someone we know who has a mechanical and mechanical shop - where it was BOTH WRENCHES PLUS A MACHINE VICE (to clamp the bottom in place) to unscrew the body and eventually remove it. Yes, you read it right! Even a big strong guy who usually deals with very heavy car parts like the gearbox couldn't open it according to the manufacturer's instructions. When he tried, he couldn't either. So he had to wrap it in a towel to keep it from getting dirty and then pinch it at the VICE store downstairs. AND ONLY WITH THAT VICE CLAMPED FIRMLY DID THE WRENCH WORK FOR HIM. For me it's more than funny. No one needs to go to that much trouble for something that SHOULD BE SO SIMPLE and SIMPLE. And that wouldn't have been necessary if it hadn't been delivered to me already assembled. Not everyone is super strong, let alone having their own vise grip for gripping the ground. WHAT YOU THOUGHT to send in pre-assembled and screwed on MUCH, MUCH, MUCH TIGHT - so tight that even a big, strong mechanic, according to the manufacturer, could force it open? And who finally had to use VICE to do the damn thing! Oh it was a simple process, connecting to a faucet and all. Very easy. A ten-year-old could do that too. And as far as I can tell, it filters quite well. But he SHOULD NOT use massive upper body strength plus MACHINE STORE VICE to just replace that damn filter. BUYER BEWARE! Make sure you can take it apart yourself before plugging it in and if you or someone you know can't do this I recommend returning it unused for a full refund.
