This is by far the best knife sharpener I have ever used. After I placed the order, I was upset that I wasted money on it, but when it arrived and I used it on a knife, my attitude completely changed. I've had several knives that were completely ruined years ago and in 10 minutes they were sharper than any knife I've ever owned. Completely satisfied with my purchase. I just received a new bench from Griptilian and immediately made it noticeably better than the factory ones. Also, I've been using the sharpener for several years and it has rounded the tips of every knife I've sharpened with it. With a little effort I was able to restore the sharp-edged tips. Some tips. Use an old or cheap knife for practice when you first get it. Downshifting is a bit awkward at first. Grab one of these digital corner cubes. If you put a larger back knife in the clamp, it will shift the blade slightly to the right of center, and then the right hand angle measurement may be wrong. Work very slowly with the belt pads. They are very easy to gouge if you don't have the right downward movement. Completely satisfied with my purchase. I'll take care of that soon. It is large, heavy and impractical for travel.
