Solid Product; Installation Requires Some Ingenuity

I installed my BakFlip cover over a month ago and I am very satisfied with it. I didn't have any kind of bed cover before, so I love being able to lock stuff in the bed overnight, when I'm at lunch, etc.The construction seems very durable and while it isn't 100% watertight, it's pretty close and it has kept my bed dry on several rainy days. The only water I see is in the groves of the bed liner, so my gear doesn't actually get wet. Also, I have hauled larger items with the cover flipped all the way up, and the lockable arms do their job without issue. My only complaint with this product would be related to the installation. My truck's factory drop-in bed liner interfered with the installation of the Bakflip's clamp-on rails. I had to use a Dremel kit to cut out sections of the bed liner to accommodate the rails.I had the same issue with the factory tailgate and bed rail caps. I removed the tailgate cap altogether and then used weather-stripping to seal the gap, which worked out nicely. But for the bed rail caps I ended up breaking out the Dremel again to narrow the caps and make them fit alongside the Bakflip. Again, this worked out, but it was a bit of a gamble.I think if you have a spray-on bed liner, or no liner at all, then installation would be less of a hassle. I just wish Bakflip gave some word of caution in the description or offered some solution.

Pros
  • Easy to installYouTube video is way to go.I LIKE this one lot better than my old one.
Cons
  • Not compatible with some aftermarket bed liners or bed extenders
