The good: can get very loud, and the sound quality is very good.The bad: Not very many different sounds, rechargeable, a little heavy (weights about as much as a cell phone).I tried a couple of others and returned them. I'm keeping this one. I wish it accepted regular replaceable batteries because as we all know, rechargeable devices usually end up in the trash after their batteries die in a couple of years. That said, the build quality is great, the sound quality is great, and the only other thing that would make this better are a few more different sounds. There seem to be maybe half a dozen fan/white/pink/brown noise sounds, as well as a beach and babbling brook. I wish there were more sounds that varied, like birds. My use is to drown out background noise while traveling and the "color" noises are fine up to a point, but I find they don't help as much when trying to muffle elevator dings or door slams. Still, this is the one I decided to keep and so I'm going to give it a try.
