I am reviewing my first review of this pump. There was one star - my fault for the wrong pump setting. The pump is wavy or pulsating. Not a single person online or in retail could explain the surge. The problem was in the settings. First, the pump needs to be mounted on suction cups horizontally at the bottom of the fountain so that the pipe or hose that takes the water to the outdoor fountain is perfectly aligned, no frills. Second, the flow control in the small fountain must be set to the lowest GPH. If the GPH is too high, the water will not flow evenly. After setting the pump securely on the ground, setting the flow regulator to the lowest GPH, and cutting off the extra tubing, BOOM! The water flow was smooth; The sound was soft and relaxing.
