Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced Performance Brake Kit: Power Stop KOE3054 - OE Brake Rotors & Ceramic Brake Pads by Kevin Duhon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pay attention to small details!

First, make sure you are ordering the correct pads and rotors. The difference is only 1/4 inch, so read the details carefully! Also, Revain can say these parts will fit your vehicle, but I'll double check with another supplier. I started using (Evolution/Power-Stop) in 2008 when they became available to my wholesaler. .Prices were cheaper so I was expecting lower quality but I started using them on people I knew's cars. To my surprise, no complaints, and they lasted about 5 years on average. Use Power Stop on 90% of the cars I repair now. For all 1 star ratings, you would be glad if you took the time to sand down all contact points of all brake components, especially the wheel bearing hub surface and the outside. Ring. Also clean rust under the tension clamps. Brake pads should only slip and not hit because they are tight! Eliminate the underlying problem! Also make sure that the pins slide easily. NEVER USE SILICONE OR SIL-GLYDE ANTI-GRIP PRODUCTS! FROM THE NEXT BRAKE. VERY HOT, TOO HOT! Clean your wellies and use the same material inside and out to increase elasticity. Also clean both parts where the caliper bracket attaches to the steering knuckle. Same goes for the caliper lugs and applying a light silicone coating to slow rust regrowth on any cleaned surfaces. All of the above results in what is known as "stacked tolerances". Rust or dirt can cause each part to vary as little as 0.001 to 0.003 inches. but when you add them along with the new rotors that give a .002" stroke, you can start your NEW BRAKE WORK AT .008" DOWN or more! No wonder your rotors are throbbing when you just put in new rotors and pads after 3 months or so. I could do this braking job in 15 minutes. But this 2013 Rav-4 was rusty and with 2 jammed drive pins, this job took 1 1/2 hours to get it right! And I've been doing brakes for 30 years and most recently have the ASE.1 certification. NEVER PUT OLD BRAKE FLUID BACK THROUGH THE ABS SYSTEM AND INTO THE MASTER CYLINDER TANK. WANT TO USE THE $1000 PIECE RISK? Unscrew the air outlet and in this way squeeze out the old liquid. No chance for trouble. Also, manufacturers recommend a new fluid at different intervals. If your brake fluid is green, flush the entire system. Too many copper ions.
