Handly little drilling jig

Use this jig for drilling cable railings on the deck I just built. Works pretty great & had no issues with wiggle. Also really helps for the stair railings when you need a 30 or 45 degree hole. My only complaint is that the clamping area is not very big. They show a much smaller clamp on the picture, but a standard clamp makes it a bit tight to drill and clamp (depending on which holes you need). One could argue that you just clamp it farthest away from the hole you're using, but it does wiggle a bit if you do this (leading to potentially less accuracy). You're also not necessarily going to easily find a clamp with a smaller foot to clamp (short of a bulky F-clamp) for a 4x4 post. The construction is nice and sturdy & it should last just fine. I have no complaints about how it's built other than that an extra 1/2" or so between the holes would make a huge difference in the speed of which you can use it (because it's easier to use bigger clamps & therefore line it up better).
