This is the third InSinkErator hot water dispenser in 24 years so overall we are happy with it. It is very convenient to have hot water at the touch of a button. The style of the newer versions is much nicer than the previous ones. After installation it works very well. There are a couple of minor complaints: (1) Although the specs say the device should heat up to 200 degrees, I've found that even at the highest temperature it only gets to 190-195. It was the same with the previous two versions, but it is enough to heat tea and coffee. Although I would like it to be 5-10 degrees warmer. (2) The installation is quite easy, but since these devices are usually located in crowded places under the sink, it is not very easy to get to these places. The plastic nut that tightens the knot under the sink is not compatible with any plumbing tool, and they insist it only needs to be hand-tightened. Hope you have long arms! (3) The hoses going from the spigot to the heater were about 3 inches shorter for my setup because the garbage chute got in the way. Customer service didn't help as the tech basically said he strongly discourages adding any extra hose segments, no matter how short, as it was designed to perform at its best. Luckily, when I installed the very first unit, my contractor added some upgrades for me to use (or buy new parts). InSinkErator could easily make the connecting hoses 3-6 inches longer or provide an extra set of extensions. In general very satisfied. If they fixed those little issues it would be worth five stars.
