Review on Chevrolet Intake System Shield - BLACKHORSE RACING by Alex Montgomery

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Unbeatable for the price

Very easy to install. For those who say they need instructions or are difficult to install, hey, you probably shouldn't be working on your own car. A little common sense and problem solving goes a long way. Installation took about 45 minutes because I was having trouble getting my old MAF sensor out of my existing airbox. The MAF sensor adapter is just a little rubber boot, mine was slightly larger than my existing MAF sensor, but as you slowly tighten the clamp it will start to shrink and take shape. The filter is very tight to the new airbox/heat shield and I have to loosen a few parts to clean or replace the filter. I would also suggest putting a pre-filter on top of this filter. I think this helps trap smaller dust particles so they don't get into the air intake or lubricate the filter to trap real fine dust particles. Clamps are very cheap, don't over tighten, just fit snug. I would replace the clamps with better ones. It's a quarter the price of the K&N brand and does the same thing.
