Review on Clover 1049 Amour Crochet 6 0Mm by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Quickly strains your fingers!

Hooks of this series are not sold. I fell in love with the Clover brand for their bamboo, acrylic hooks and knitting needles. I'm still a fan of the brand but not the Amour series. The hook is aluminum yes but I find it a bit rough which doesn't give me the best glide. Other brands that I think have the best quality aluminum are Boye, Sudana Bates and Loops and threads. I don't know how others feel using this hook, but this series wears out my hands quickly. I have some old Boye hooks that are very heavy, but they don't put as much strain on my hands as the Amours. I store steaks and this puts a lot of pressure on the base of my thumb and forefinger which reduces my ability to crochet longer. The price for each hook is reasonable, which is one of the reasons. why i ordered Hooks get a lot of buzz, but I'm a long way from selling them. I personally wouldn't recommend it as the series is very taxing on my hands. I feel that the loops and threads, which are Michael's trademark, make the hooks more ergonomic as the silicone grip is softer and has greater glide. Both Clover and Loops have short necks on their ergonomic hooks, so this doesn't matter in the comparison. Overall, this is a good hook, but not for me. Others might like it, but I'll take this hook as a backup for my favorite hooks.
