Review on ๐Ÿง€ White Westmark Germany Multipurpose Stainless Steel Cheese and Food Slicer with Adjustable Thickness Dial and Board by Mike Vargas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I almost made a mistake.

.buy a cheese board with wire cutter. Yes, I wanted a fancy cheese slice with a marbled bottom. I noticed that while watching. Watched the video and sold it. After purchasing, I checked the reviews. Some have criticized the lightweight plastic base. Yes, it doesn't look elegant, but the price is very low for the performance. It seemed to me that some were unhappy that it didn't meet their commercial needs. Maybe they have a restaurant. For this price? Please! A few people have mentioned that it didn't cut straight down. The swivel mechanism is plastic, as far as I can tell, and wobbles a bit if you let it. Remember to press straight down and it works fine. Finally, some have mentioned that the blade didn't bend and its cheese crumbled. I don't know what they are talking about because the blade gets thicker as it goes up and the cheese "curls" outwards very nicely. I've also noticed that some reviewers have concerns about cutting veggies, fruits, and other soft foods. As with any other way of slicing things like this, you want your product to be almost frozen and quickly lowered onto it with a blade. Have you ever tried slicing a fully thawed chicken into strips with a knife? good luck right? Half frozen it works fine am I right? Respect the limitations of this blade and you will be happy with it. I also read one or two test reports about the sharpness of the blade. Anything mass produced will be defective. I wouldn't hesitate to return it. For sharpening, I plan to use my own piece of tanned leather like barbers used to use for their long bladed straight razors. I gave this four stars because; 1. The blade wobbles a bit, but mainly because: 2. A lot of people don't read one or five star reviews.

Pros
  • understandable also for the old
Cons
  • some little things
