As easy to install as a fixed shelf bracket. Took out one star for sturdiness since a single bracket does wobble a bit right to left once installed, but when two are installed plus the shelf, wobbling is negligible. This is important since the brackets need to be at an exactly 90 degree angle to the wall, otherwise it will be difficult to collapse the shelf. I used levels and right angle tools to make sure I had alignment, and found that one of the brackets did not sit 90 degrees from the wall. This is where wobbling actually came in handy, since I was able to push the front of the bracket over to 90 deg before drilling the underside of the shelf. Separately, I agree with other posts about using better screws to attach to the wall. I received 1 1/2" screws, but for better pull-out strength I'd use at least 2 1/2" or 3" (caveat: assumes there's no electrical wire running through the stud at that location). All said, though, I like what I got.
