This watercolor palette is exactly as advertised: for beginners, as a sort of overview. It is quite suitable for this purpose. Even better, however, is that it is very light and portable and offers a good range of colors at a very reasonable price. These qualities make it the perfect portable palette for beginners, and that's how I used it. It is light enough to take with you almost anywhere and is very convenient to use. The quality of the paint isn't as good as the paint in the tubes, but you don't pay for that here. You'll probably want to add a better brush too. In general I was satisfied!
