Review on 🔥 OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle: Perfectly Clear, Electric and Versatile by Alicia Lopez

I've only had this kettle for about five days, but I use it about once or twice a day. before I get to my pros and cons. The warranty of this kettle will be void if the user does not descale the kettle at least every 60 uses. The descaling solution must be purchased separately. I will probably use this teapot twice a day. This means that I have to descale this kettle once a month. What particularly annoys me about this is that most small appliances that need descaling simply recommend doing it a few times a year, with some recommending every 3-6 months. I have no doubt that descaling is necessary to prolong the life of the kettle, but the fact that it's required every 60 uses and they go as far as voiding the warranty as a penalty tells me this kettle doesn't can handle hard water. as well as others. I can't compare it to anything else. There are design flaws and requirements that create maintenance headaches. So far it has served its purpose and I think 3 out of 5 stars is fair. I will update this review with any new discoveries, good and bad, as they emerge. **UPDATE** I've owned the first one for 2 years (2017-2019) and had to order a new one because my sink overflowed and a small amount of water on the counter ruined the base and it wouldn't turn on. I just assumed the water had shorted it out and ordered another one. The second one I ordered broke the base a month after the 2 year warranty expired. The cheapness of the base was an issue in my original review. I have updated my rating to 1 star, this kettle is not worth the price; too many design flaws.
