Review on Honeywell 50000293 004 Air Filter 🏒 - Size 20X12 5 Inch, Post Filter by Jeb Moorehead

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Close enough for F50A-F50E models

Finally found the right post filter. The model has changed from greenish to just aluminum as the new ones are more efficient. This is not the loose mesh used in the pre-filter. Dared to get it for my old F50A which from what I've read is almost identical to the F50E except for a few extra features. The description of this filter product states that it is not compatible with filters A to E, but no one can say exactly how it differs from F. The difference is in the size. This filter is technically 1/4 inch larger than I need. I found this out by comparing it with my pre-filter as I never had a post-filter (came from home, took too long to find the right product and the right filter model is nowhere to be found). The slot thickness was perfect and it started to fit until it came to the dents and screws. I found that by CAREFULLY bending the long side of the frame I could slide it in just a little so the bend went towards the stove. Because they were bent tight enough, there was no gap between them. Yes there is a tiny gap on the sides but since they breathe really well I don't think it will be a problem if the air rushes around them instead of going through them. Definitely better than nothing! I bent the first one too much and bent it a little and it was ok. The edge of the wire mesh protrudes slightly from the frame and sticks out. So if you're worried you can put on gardening or work gloves, but if you just bend it a little and wiggle it a little, you'll be fine and nothing stank. from another. I'll try to post some photos later.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
