Okay, I'll be honest here - I really didn't think this little thing would be such a well-made product for the reasonable price. However, the plethora of positive reviews it received gave me the push I needed to risk it. And I'm happy to report that it far exceeded my expectations! Basically, I bought it for the fireplace's warm orange glow, which adds so much to the overall atmosphere of the space - and the fire simulation from this wonderful appliance looks pretty realistic, rather than the cheesy mock-fire look of many of its kind. If you want it for a heater, it scores well in that category too - although I live in a hot area of the country I probably won't get that particular feature as much use often. But it's nice to know he's there when you need him! The only assembly required was to simply attach the four legs to the base, which was quick and easy with a Phillips head screwdriver. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this Duraflame electric fireplace. In fact, I'm thinking about buying another one to put in my bedroom!
