Review on Dell P2715Q 27-Inch LED Lit 4K Monitor: Immerse Yourself with Crystal Clear Picture Quality by Dan Harriger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceptional purchase, great price, great Revain service

One of my best monitor purchases. Note that it has a matte finish and the grainy white colors can sometimes be distracting when reading a webpage or a book. There are many fans of the matte finish, but I'm one of the few who prefer the glossy screen. I have to say when I open the curtains and let the light in the graininess disappears and the picture looks pristine. I've had an ASUS PB287Q 4K monitor since 2014 and wanted it to be my primary and my secondary Asus monitor for tutorial videos, reading programming books, and general HULU shows while exploring various topics playing in the background. White on my Asus was whiter than on this monitor, but color accuracy is much better on this monitor. Also, Dell has an IPS panel, so the viewing angles are great. The bottom of the screen offers very good DPI for smooth text. I have an nVidia GTX 980 (4GB) and World of Warcraft on max with no anti-aliasing and it looks great on this monitor. I'm not a big fan of FPS games (first person shooters) so I can't confirm that, but I think it's fine with a matching GTX 980+ or equivalent. The monitor was recognized in both operating systems with 60 Hz 4k. X Yosemite and Windows 10 without special monitor setup, just unpacked. The Asus mentioned above had to be configured in the monitor's OSD settings. The cable provided by Dell is a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable. You can use this cable by connecting the mini jack to your monitor and the normal end to your sound card OR! Vice versa: the side of the display port in the monitor and the mini display port in your graphics card/laptop/Macbook. SPECIAL NOTE. If you are using the mini display port on the end of the monitor and the regular display port for the graphics card, make sure you enter the monitor's OSD menu and select miniDP as the source. The default value is a normal display port and shows "none". Signal detected." I'm not overly sensitive to light bleed, but I don't notice it on this monitor, I notice it on Asus. Also, there are IPS "glow" warnings, but I'm not sure what it is, and i have not experienced anything that would affect my experience with this monitor no dead pixels arrived two days before promised delivery which i paid for (3 to 5 days, arrived in 2, exceptional service) if you like general purpose external speakers I have (I had a $50 Logitech pair) I recommend the Dell USB SoundBar AC511 Absolute compliments on this purchase I also received it through Revain and although it was packaged from two different locations from the US and was shipped it arrived the same day as the monitor!Again great service from Revain. It's those little touches you don't expect that delight you.I read a plaintive base on these speakers.Wen If you don't throw a Saturday night disco out of your room, these speakers are phenomenal value for money! Ideal for general use, gaming, Netflix videos and movies. Of course if you're looking for a theatrical experience they're not, but they sound great, mount neatly on this monitor and have really freed up some desk space. The great thing is that when these great speakers fail, I just unplug them from the monitor, throw them away and order a new speaker. You don't need a brand new monitor. Seriously, monitor manufacturers should just do this instead of throwing in a bunch of cheap speakers that nobody uses and skyrocketing the price. The monitor and soundbar were immediately recognized by OS X Yosemite 10.11.4. Windows 10 did not immediately recognize the soundbar. Trying to detect it was a nightmare, so I did a clean install and for some reason, during the install, it was immediately detected. I may have had some residual drivers installed that were interfering with it. All in all, Revain's exceptional shopping and service experience was wonderful.
