I'm not usually the type of person to write reviews but felt like I should have used this monitor after doing a lot of research before purchasing. Before I do: Yes, this is a wonderful, beautiful, amazing monitor. It has a non-glossy display and easy-to-reach buttons. Not anymore. Problems and Explanations1. You will hear on many different websites and browsers that the monitor is having trouble waking up, requiring you to reset the monitor, wait an inordinate amount of time, try different ports, etc. But what can I tell you? is that there are multiple versions of the same monitor from Rev. A00 to Rev. A03. You can find out which ones you have by looking at the back of the monitor. The earlier you installed the version, the higher the chance of problems. I have A03. I don't have these problems with this monitor.2. You have to understand that when you buy a 4K monitor, the resolution is different. So what this really means (especially if you have Windows 10 etc.) is that you need to adjust the scaling for your display. That means you'll need to zoom in on text and icons so you can see what's happening on the screen without squinting. This works better on a MAC, but on Windows you really have to fiddle with the settings. (That is, everything is very small.) The process for doing this is slightly different for each version of Windows and operating system. So if you're hooking this up and things are really small, don't panic. Take out your phone and figure out how to scale text and icons so they're easy to see.3. A special note for GTX 970 users (since a lot of people buy these and the 980 for VR): I just bought some parts and put the computer together. Gigabyte G7 z170 motherboard, Intel 6700K processor and so on. I also have an nvidia GTX 970 100 million version and it's having issues (and not just my 970 version having these issues) over HDMI. (Weird snow, black bars, etc., black screen, gray screen, etc.) The HDMI port is unlike any monitor I connect this thing to. Apparently you can find people with "HDMI glitches" on the NVIDIA forums. How does this relate to this monitor? If you bought a 970 card and are having trouble with HDMI, try Display Port. If you are happy with 1080p (then buy another monitor and save some money but...) this monitor will work with this card and DVI-HDMI. Of course this will not work as intended.4. Finally, if you find your mouse behaving strangely when your monitor is running at 4K, you should probably check and make sure your drivers are installed correctly, or more specifically that your monitor is running at 60 hertz instead runs from 30. If it's 30, the mouse may look like it's buggy or a little behind. In this case, reinstall the nVidia driver, switch from HDMI to Display Port and check if your monitor is running at 60Hz.5. This is not a Dell Ultrasharp monitor. This is a Dell Ultra HD 4K monitor. Similar names, but Ultrasharp is a top-of-the-line monitor with near-perfect color reproduction. It doesn't bring down the color on this one. It is great. Keep this in mind before you buy a monitor.
