Review on πŸ“Έ Fit System Mirror Glass for GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse, Saturn Outlook - Passenger Side (Blind Spot Free) by Kyle Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Replacing the entire side mirror assembly was unnecessary and prohibitively expensive at the dealership.

One morning my white 2012 Acadia driver's side mirror was smashed on the ground and the victim of a late night accident. The console was intact, but the black plastic plate holding the mirror was broken off. The mirror glass was broken. Replacing the entire side mirror assembly was unnecessary and prohibitively expensive at the dealership. Side mirror assemblies could be bought online for about $80 with instructional videos showing how to install them, but they were all black and my car was white. This product was my Knight in Mirror Armor! I scraped off all the old broken glass and green heating gel (with protective gloves of course), washed everything with soap and water, separated the two black plastic parts and voila! This mirror fits perfectly. It wasn't perfect, but close enough for me to assemble the black plastic case. A bit of epoxy to glue everything together and attach it back to the mirror and it worked great! Total cost: $15 ($10 for the mirror, $5 for the epoxy). Cons: There are two. First, as mentioned above, it wasn't a perfect match for the Acadia 2012, but it was very close. Second, it obviously doesn't have a reheat/defrost function, which I don't care about but seems to bother my wife. :-(A must if your side mirror housing is still intact.

Pros

Cons
