Review on 🔬 AmScope SM-3BZ-80S Binocular Stereo Microscope with WF10x Eyepieces and LED Light Source - 3.5X-90X Magnification, Single-Arm Boom Stand (110V) by David Crawford

I'm a hobbyist who needs to do small jobs on circuit boards and miniature models from time to time and for those jobs this scope is just amazing, big overkill. The optics are clean, I haven't had any issues with focus drift, the included LED light source (dimmable) works great, and the whole unit feels solid as a lead ingot. However, all of this goes to show that there are a few things that prevent this scope from getting a 5 star rating. The full zoom range is achieved by attaching a 0.5x or 2.0x secondary lens to the main lens. This requirement is not surprising for a riflescope in this price range, but it would be nice if it were listed in the product description. More importantly, and a half star for me, is the lack of a 1.0x pass-through filter to protect the primary optics unless other lenses are used. Sure, 0.5x + 2.0x = 1x which is what I'm doing right now, but this solution is clumsy and I'm not a fan.2. The kit includes eyecups for the eyepieces and a heavy duty plastic dust cover. That's great, but again it's not mentioned in the product description, and ironically, Revain even offers to add these two items to your purchase. zero documentation. No one. To me, at least, not even a piece of paper was mentioned by some of the other reviewers that supposedly linked to an online help guide. Using the Revain product image for assembly instructions, I was able to put everything together, but neither the manual, registration card, nor warranty information was worth half a star. I think this is a great device for $400. However, AmScope's suggestion that the list price is actually $1,900 and I'm getting a 77% discount through Revain is absurd. EDIT: grammar
