Such a nice clean simple box!. But.

I spent a full 29 days testing this router before preparing my return. I wanted to love him so badly but I couldn't. The WiFi failed. First of all, I'm a network engineer and I usually love the classic Cisco router, which mimics the aesthetics well. A clean box with no goofy plastic, just a good looking device that says it'll get the job done like a pro. However, appearances can be deceiving. Yes, the web interface was fine, and it's nice to be able to queue configuration changes to be applied simultaneously, as well as the dual WAN capabilities, which I've been actively trying between my fiber and coax providers. Everything wired worked as expected. WiFi is hot bullshit. Sorry but that's true. I took no more than 10 measurements for each position of this router, moved it around 20 different locations in my network closet/laundry room, and steered the antennas to different positions. Nothing could solve the fact that this router exuded the power of a raw cheese sandwich. Luckily I still had my old router which I pulled out and tested with a dummy SSID and lo and behold it had worse signal strength than my 2015 that I replaced. I was sad to wrap it up and return it, but it's easy. Doesn't work well with a wireless network, really. If this is going to be your wired network provider, this is a good choice, but choose something else if you want it to work with your wireless networks as well.
