Attention emptor. I bought a Linksys router (EA1500) 2-3 years ago and am very happy with it. It looked like a similar product but at a lower price. Some reviews said the range was weak, but I don't live in a palace so that was acceptable to me. But it turned out to be a disappointing piece #@$&. It has been defective since day one (which I think is better than having it for months before it breaks). After setting it up, I was never able to access the router settings again (meaning I couldn't update the firmware). Whenever I tried to log in, the waiting circle just went in circles. My phone received a 5GHz signal for a short period of time, but then failed to reconnect. I've tried all the suggestions on the Linksys customer support page to no avail. Also, this thing started overheating right away, even though it was in a cool, well-ventilated area. I'm starting to get annoyed with big companies that offer attractive products at low prices, which then turn out to be useless junk. (I'm also thinking of a chest of drawers I got from Ikea). Sorry Linksys, I'm looking elsewhere for my next router. I should add that the seller (Quantum Wireless) made it easy to return the product, so thanks for that.
