I bought this to fit some flush mounted tabletop sockets so we don't have cords hanging all over the place. This left no dent on some Corians. The same goes for oak. I then tried using it at our final table and had mixed results. One thing was clear: the cordless drill driver didn't have the power to make it work. I had to get out the big guns and use my handy professional drill. Wood. Second: rock it back and forth. Drill forward and then back so it gnaws through the wood. The blade kept getting stuck in the wood, so it was a one step forward and two back project. I tried oiling the blade to help him. No bueno. Finally, I completed the task with great determination. It took me a full 25 minutes to get through 1 inch of wood. I couldn't give up as I had already messed up the countertop and would run into holy h*** if I left it like that. Turn on the power and install the plug. I repeated it like a mantra until I reached the end. If you are using this for hollow doors, MDF or plastic this will work great. For thick, hard wood or other surfaces, be careful. Make sure you have a towel handy to dry your forehead. Use a heavy duty drill. Swear to a minimum (*of course this is personal preference) Go ahead and don't expect it to be "Oh good! I can cross this project off my list in 20 minutes. On the positive side, yellow is cheerful. Especially when my mood turned somber and unholy.
