ZVox SoundBase 770: Step One. I purchased a used 770 on ebay so that I could hear the TV without blasting my spouse out of the room. I can now hear voices on the TV without a marital challenge. Next step was to hook up my subwoofer to the ZVox system to get required base when watching TV (Movies). That solves the TV watching issue, but Music originally sounded horrible on the ZVox. Voila, I found a cure for Apple users. A year later I purchased two HomePods and put one on each side of the TV to see how they sounded in the room. and it initially alone they did not do the music job. But, now using my iPad, I go to the music app and start streaming my music to the HomePods. (Start playing a song in Apple music, see the song title in the lower right box, click on it, and then click on the bottom center red triangle.) You can at the same time stream music to your ZVox if when you setup your AppleTV you tell it to use the ZVox. You will also see the name of the AppleTV in the streaming options in the Music App, thus you can tap the circle to the right of the HomePod(s) and at the same time the circle next to the AppleTV name. You will have the ability to adjust the volume separately on each device or use the slider at the bottom to move all the selected volumes together. My HomePods are setup as Stereo in IOS12. You have to be on IOS 12. The AppleTV supplements music listening perfectly in areas the ZVox cannot handle. Believe me, you with be amazed at how the music comes alive. My room is large and there is no way the Apple HomePods could do the job alone, but with the ZVox added to the music listening setup, the base and higher frequency levels are enhanced and independently controllable using the ZVox and the HomePods volume levels on my iPad. The hidden beauty will be my elimination speakers, speaker wires, and the receiver out of the cabinet. It's a very simple clean setup. I stumbled into this accidently while testing the HomePods next to the TV, but wow, what a find. In a small room, HomePods can do the music part of the job quite nicely, especially for those of us who are hearing impaired. But in a large room, ZVox and HomePods combined make music listening a true pleasure again. You can't listen to TV sound just using HomePods. They are designed for music listening and cell phone call facilitation. (Hey Siri, answer my phone. Hey Siri, call my sister.)
