Review on Black Walnut Bread Lame Made by Barbara Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beautifully made tool

I splurged on this purchase and was surprised that it actually cuts the dough better than a sharp knife or other solutions. Good job on the walnut and feels very good in the hand when in use. Changing blades is not easy and I would take my time and be careful not to cut my pinky finger. Before you begin, look at the picture to make sure you're really trying to install the new blade correctly. I'm not saying it's really dangerous, I'm saying it's a very sharp blade that goes in a narrow slot so be patient, use a good light if your eyes get old and have fun with it. I've used it to make slices out of different doughs. Very heavy whole grain breads, high moisture breads, ciabatta, baguettes, various white breads and the like. It performs well on all types of tests. I clean the blade thoroughly after use because once the batter is dry you might as well replace the blade. It was more than what I really need for bread baking. But it's a good tool that I enjoy using and does a great job. I think if you bake bread and really want to make it, this is a great tool. A great gift for the baker in your family.
