Well done. The appearance resembles the old world craftsmanship you would expect from handcrafted items. Easy to use. This immediately made cutting easier and more accurate. Changing blades is not easy. The blades are very easy to find so this is a buy for ever. A must-have item for bakers.

There is a screw on the back of this beautiful tool (which holds the blade in place) that totally gets in the way. It will soak into your dough, leaving no clean cut from a baker, but a laceration that looks like it was made by a wild animal's teeth. So much money, what a waste of a magnificent tree. Fur.

Beautiful finish. I've tried many other lame's that I didn't like because the blade often wasn't tight - then I stumbled upon this one and I'm so glad I did! The blade is clamped between the wood and tightened with two screws. Also real wood and it looks amazing! Worth every penny.

It wasn't cheap, but it was a really nice device. I'm tired of cutting loaves of bread with the wrong knives. I confess that I didn't understand how to insert the blade, but I learned quickly when I went to the site. I look forward to earning hundreds of breads in the future. I love this lame one very much and I'm glad I didn't spare the money.

Use this occasionally for work when I lose my work knife and until a replacement is ordered. Not as good as the curved blade plate and I don't have a good way of transporting it from work (wish it came in either a sturdier box or a proper carrying case), but overall very good. Don't drink too many homemade baked goods so they won't get much use, but they seem strong enough.

Wow, this item is beautiful. I bought a cheaper version (Saint Germain) which barely works, doesn't look that impressive and started falling apart after the first use. Zatoba, on the other hand, seems to outlive me. He's handsome, strong, and most importantly, he can easily score bread like a champion. In terms of quality, looks, and rating abilities, this thing should cost at least $50, so at $20 it's a steal. Buy it now because it will make your life better.

I splurged on this purchase and was surprised that it actually cuts the dough better than a sharp knife or other solutions. Good job on the walnut and feels very good in the hand when in use. Changing blades is not easy and I would take my time and be careful not to cut my pinky finger. Before you begin, look at the picture to make sure you're really trying to install the new blade correctly. This is my first bread maker and I bought it because it's made in the USA and it's handmade and it's beautiful. However, I had expected a slightly better wood look. There are rough edges where the hole is drilled in the bottom of the handle that I can't fix unless I sand and repaint. I took everything apart and used brass polish on the trim and thumbscrews because they were so tarnished they barely looked like brass.
