Review on Panaracer Pasela ProTite Folding Tire: Unbeatable Quality and Convenience by Souly Buddy

Good choice for a vintage bike

I put these tires on a 1983 Fuji. They are an excellent replacement for the original Skinwall tires. The original tires (and rims) were marked 27 x 1 1/8 but were actually 1 inch. Apparently it wasn't uncommon in that era for tires to have an actual width that was less than the nominal width. So I settled on the 1" Pasela, and that's exactly what they measure at 100psi. (Inside Rim Width 17mm, Outer Rim Width 22mm) This was my first experience with folding tires. I can see others have had difficulty using them to install but in my case it was easy, no lever required. This may be because my single wall rims have a deep center notch which allows a lot of play when the bead is pulled over the edge.I was very careful about that To align the bead line with the rim and they hold 100psi with no problem.(btw my discs have gotten hooked). The 27" x 1" size is rated at 115psi if you need that much for your weight. In between those Tires and the slightly lighter inner tubes the change has saved 100g per wheel which is a lot considering it is on the verge of spinning although they are considered touring/city tires and feel in such a s narrow width pleasantly. Overall I highly recommend them. UPDATE APRIL 2021 AFTER 700 miles: No flat tires, no noticeable wear. I've been using them lately at 90 PSI fits my weight great and is a little more comfortable. I expect a good life from these tires. I still recommend them.
