Good lock but not a direct replacement for Bargman L300

Bought to replace my Bargman L300. Everywhere on the internet, including the Bauer website, it is written that it is a direct replacement. Well, you need to stretch the truth a bit, and you'll need some skill and cutting tools to do the stretching. The dimensions are close enough, but depending on how the original cutouts were made you will have a gap in the top corner of the pawn forend, on the lock side both inside and out. The Bargman has slightly wider bezels and a more forgiving door cutout. Bauer hasps do not unscrew from the lock (they are factory fitted) while L300s do. So you may need to drill a 9/16 hole to widen it to insert the lock. The door frame closer is also very different as the Bauer has a deadbolt while the L300 does not. So you will need to make a new cut out in the door frame to accommodate the new deadbolt strike plate. If you do all that then it's a direct replacement I think. To make the changes I needed a Dremel cutting tool, a 9/16 drill bit and a metal file. I haven't decided yet how to deal with the gap left by Bauer's Castle, it shouldn't be too hard to find something. I gave this one a 4 out of 5 as they announced a direct replacement. Thus, the rating is more related to marketing, while the Bauer lock is otherwise a product with a 5-level rating.
