The display does not say that you may have to cut off a piece of the plastic extension cable. in. So I read the instructions, and there's this: if it doesn't work after installation, you'll need to cut off part of the plastic extension cord. The problem is they don't tell you how much (it depends on the thickness of the door). Two points: you should have markings on the extension to show where to cut. And they have to tell you how to cut because first I tried scissors that couldn't cut through. So I ended up looking for my wire cutters that actually worked. But since I didn't cut off much, I made a mistake at a small distance. Put it back together and you guessed it. It still didn't work. So I took it apart and cut some more. Finally success. They should have announced that yes it works with different thicknesses, but you may have to use a trial (and hopefully no bugs) to install it. So I made the mistake of cutting too little. Now it works as it should; The price is correct; and I would recommend it for those who have on hand. However, not for those who are not at hand.
