I had a Garmin Nuvi that got hit by a car :) So I decided to get a cool TomTom (with features like POI correction, celebrity voices, etc.). Used for 50 days, finally returned. Here's why: 1. It doesn't show step-by-step text instructions, which is vital for my needs. Nuvi did it with just one click. Before I set off, I want to know at a high level which highways/main roads I'm going to take. You can't do this in Tomtom Ease (Interestingly, my brother has an old TomTom that can, but it takes 2-3 clicks. Why would they get rid of this functionality?)2. It has a confusing user interface. I don't think it's as intuitive as Nuvi. I understand that this is a subjective challenge, but annoying nonetheless.3. Although it has a standard micro USB charging port, it does not work with standard micro USB chargers. Why the hell would that be? I should now have two chargers for my two cars in addition to two chargers for my blackberries. Why switch to a standard if it doesn't work consistently? 4. Battery life isn't great.5. The entire user interface seems a bit confusing and not easy to interpret at first glance (while driving). Again, this is subjective, but my experience with Nuvi was much better.
