Works great on my Mac, Apple Image Capture doesn't automatically detect it. I have used many scanners over the years. This is the first image not automatically recognized by Apple's built-in Image Capture app. I had to download two items from the Canon website: the TWAIN driver and the CaptureOnTouch application. The CaptureOnTouch app looks like 'old school' Windows 10 but works well with both text and images. I am pleased to report that there is NO battery in the scanner. A scanner (or pretty much any other device) should never have built-in batteries. With a built-in battery, you can't pack it in your luggage on a commercial flight. If these built-in batteries fail to charge after two or three years, the entire product should be thrown in the trash. Try to avoid anything related to the built-in, non-user-replaceable battery. The scan quality is excellent. I only use this for travel. However, it's still a solid choice for those with limited workspace.
