Review on John Boos MPL1610125 FH GRV Prestige Reversible by Pamela Begay

Very bad for cutlery and knife utensils

I bought this board in late January 2017. The board is almost unusable. Two pieces of wood began to splinter and a glue line failed. Worst of all, the board will become deformed and not lie flat on the granite countertop. I bought the recommended cleaners/care products and used them as recommended, but it didn't help at all. Update: The manufacturer sent me a new board in March 2018. She was absolutely beautiful from the start. The artist chose the wooden parts. I seasoned it with Boos Mystery Board Oil for almost a week and finished it off with Boos Board Wax. And I started using it almost every day. A month later, the glued seams began to come loose. So now I have a three piece board.

Pros
  • Safe for cutlery: wooden cutting boards cut knives more easily than plastic cutting boards (which dull knives more quickly)
Cons
  • Concerns me
