Review on Renogy 200W 12V Solar Panel Starter Kit W/20A Rover MPPT Charge Controller & Mounting Z Brackets For RV, Boats, Trailer, Camper by Becky Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just what I needed.

I bought this to keep our 12VDC fridge running in the camper while boondocking. It does the job great. I run it with an 81Ah deep cycle Interstate battery. We were camping when I hooked it up for the first time. My controller was showing 11.7 volts right before I plugged in the panels. Within an hour I was up to 12.7 volts. With full sun it had no problems keeping the fridge running and we used the lights and Fantastic Fan as needed. The next day, I was curious as to how much it would keep up. I ran the Fan on manual all day long as well as the fridge and my battery stayed full until the sun started going down. I turned off the fan and it topped off my battery with the remaining sunlight we had left. If all you need to do is keep your RV fridge going and run your fan and a light now and then this is all you need. I do like that the controller is rated where I can add two more 100 watt panels if I decide to. For my initial set up, I used the box the kit came it as a kick stand for the panels. Faced East in the morning, laid them down flat on top of the box at noon, the propped up facing west in the evening. I plan to mount them flat on the roof eventually.
