You have to turn it off and on manually!
I think this hard drive will "sleep" and "wake up". However, it simply shuts down when the Xbox turns off and refuses to wake up when the Xbox turns on. I've done all the troubleshooting steps and I'm done. I've spent so much time downloading all my games, reformatting them to work, downloaded again and still the same. Either I don't know something, or mine is broken, or you really need to turn it on and off manually.
