Review on πŸ“Ά TP-Link Deco S4 - Powerful Mesh WiFi System for Enhanced Home Coverage - 3-Pack by Ken Coste

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Should have gotten them a long time ago

For a while I used the wifi router to cover my whole house but due to the placement (the stone fireplace next to it and in the path) it couldn't do too well, to cover the whole house and I had to use a TP-Link extension with it. The extension worked well but the combination only covered 2/3 of the house. After a lot of research I finally narrowed it down to TP-Link Deco and one or two others (including Google's Grid system). As I trust Google with my privacy only slightly more than Facebook (which would be ZERO) this narrowed my search and I decided to pull the TP-Link trigger after reading and seeing more reviews from reputable computer websites have. very simple and the phone app is clean and easy to use (could be a bit better but it's good). What I really like is that I was able to hide the devices behind plants and hard-to-reach places without you even noticing. After tuning, the coverage was excellent. Mobile devices switch between network devices when one of them has a better signal than the other as you move around the house and outdoors. I even noticed that one of my TVs on the 1st floor in the corner office is connected to the network device in my basement and not the one on the same floor. The position of the TV showed that the signal from the mesh device below was stronger than the device on the other side of the house, so it automatically connected. BY THE WAY. In the Phone app, you can see which devices are bound to which cellular block. You can name any connected device (e.g. living room, 2nd floor lobby, basement, etc.) and give each connected device a name - this comes in handy if you use multiple Alexas and want to name them so you know which one I've been waiting to write this review until I've been using it for several months and after that time I'm very happy and satisfied with my decision. TP-Link Deco has some nice in-app controls, but if you want additional custom controls like deep logs and high-level filters, you might be better off with a more expensive setup. But if you just want to maximize your home's Wi-Fi coverage without having to buy a few extra toys, this is a great buy!
