Thoughtful Setup Script Eases Installation on Linux

There seems no getting around the fact that only a small subset of Wi-Fi adapters are fully plug-and-play on Linux in general and on any given distribution ; and the installation process for many of these adapters can be quite intimidating for Linux newbies like me. in the right place and copy the only command. The installation actually failed at first, but it was still good news. When the BrosTrend installation script failed, it produced a clear, human-readable error message stating that it failed due to missing kernel headers. I'm using Debian 10 Buster with PREEMPT RT kernel for LinuxCNC support; Kernel 4.19.0-11-rt-amd64 is old enough that the kernel headers are no longer in the current Debian package repository. I don't feel comfortable updating the kernel for fear of breaking compatibility with LinuxCNC. Back then it was pretty easy to find and install a copy of the correct kernel headers from the Debian snapshot archive (circa 2019) with a bit of Googling - after that the BrosTrend installer script ran successfully and the Wi-Fi adapter is now working perfect. It's worth noting that in the event of an error, the setup script also outputs clear, human-readable instructions on how to email your script results and log file to BrosTrend for assistance, giving them enough information to deal with can work. I didn't have to do it as described above, but it was nice nonetheless. Starting a simple installer GUI), but it's not that far off - it's obvious that this company took care to simplify it.
