Review on HON Prominent Mesh High-Back Task Chair with Seat Glide, Adjustable Arms, Asynchronous Control - Black by Amanda Hill

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Arrived broken, ergonomics too

The chair came with a broken armrest adjustment lever. I informed HON customer service which part was defective, made it clear that it was a small plastic lever, took a picture of the problematic part and asked for a replacement. They sent me a replacement armrest assembly that didn't include the part I needed. Long story short, they ended up sending me a new seat cushion and I was able to assemble an already working chair. I have to thank their customer support team for their diligence in resolving my issue. However. The chair isn't particularly comfortable for three reasons: 1. The armrests are concave, meaning you dig into your hand with raised protrusions when typing. The armrests cannot be rotated, so the concave surface feels a bit silly.2. The lumbar support is about 6 inches higher in the lowest position, which is ridiculous. You must be 7 or 8 feet tall before the lumbar support will do its job. The seat cushion is very hard. It feels like I'm sitting on a hard wooden surface rather than an armchair. Also, there's a plastic cover on the back that never seems to stay quite secure, and the chair makes random popping sounds like there's something inside. the inner mechanism shifts sharply. Also, the chair was easy to assemble and the materials feel solid. The customization hardware also seems pretty solid, so that's a plus.
