I'm new to knitting and crocheting so this is my first time using wooden needles - I'm not a fan. Bamboo holds the yarn so tightly you have to pull each stitch off while pulling new stitches together . You're just annoying. Also, I worry that they will snag on the tiny fibers of the yarn and make it less smooth. Maybe wood/bamboo is good for beginners just starting out to keep the yarn from slipping off, but in my opinion they are annoying. I'll give them one last shot at a throw blanket, but I'm not breathless at the success I'll have or the amount of patience I'll have.
