Review on Powerful Cleaning with Shark HZ602 Corded Ultralight Vacuum by Beth Williams

Great cleaning power, rather poor design

This Shark Ultralight Pet Pro cleans very effectively. We have two house cats and my first quick clean of our rather small living room picked up a large amount of their fur. I am really impressed with the cleaning ability of the device. This is especially good on carpets where the continuous brush on the roller really picks up dirt. If only the design of the vacuum cleaner was so good. My biggest gripe is that you can't stand the device upright. It's too heavy and poorly balanced, requiring you to either lean it against something (wall, bookshelf, chair, etc.) or place it on the floor. I just can't understand why Shark designed this thing where it couldn't stand, especially since they designed the stock to lock in a vertical position even if you can't stand it. Just weird. Less frustrating but still annoying is the accessory clip that holds the wand attachment. You attach it to the vacuum's frame tube, but it slides up and down without much resistance, making it difficult to attach or remove accessories as the clip moves up and down. Another bad design decision that's hard to understand. I expect 99.9% of users will find it easier to not attach any accessories at all. My final complaint is that the trash can is annoyingly small. Expect to have to stop frequently to empty it. Again - why? This thing does a great job cleaning up trash, so why make such a small trash bowl? Luckily, despite being small, emptying it is easy and convenient. Ultimately, I simply cannot recommend this vacuum cleaner. It looks suspiciously like Shark started out with a handheld vacuum and decided to attach it to a handle without giving a second thought to its actual functionality. Cleans well but still disappointing.
