Review on FIRSTINFO Pneumatic Operation Changer Extractor by Bill Escobar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The least messy way to change oil or transmission fluid.

I bought this to change the transmission oil in my 2017 F150 10R80 and 2016 Honda Ody 6sp. I changed the transmission oil in Odie using 10 drops mostly poured from a gas station. I didn't have to break out either the drain or filler plugs (doesn't stick well due to friction modifiers). It took me about 2 minutes to drain 3.1 liters from the Ody through the dipstick tube. The large hose didn't fit, but the middle one fitted fine. He didn't drain 3.6 liters like a drain plug. I stuck the pipe in as far as I could and let it run until nothing came out. I cannot recommend using this solely as a replacement for Ody Trans Fluid. The magnet on the drain plug needs to be cleaned. If you do the 2nd and 3rd drain and fill, everything should be fine. Regarding using the device: According to the instructions, the nylon hose is rated for 95°C, which is over 200°F. This should be fine for most automotive fluids, but tiring. There are adapters on the exhaust pipes that seem to have very little glue, but I had to re-glue one and the other had to be glued with Honda Bond (Honda sump sealant). He could have used a better end on the tank's larger side pipe. The pneumatic vacuum pump works very well. My 20 gallon supercharger kept up and recovered quickly. However, this has more to do with airflow than pressure or tank size. The handle of the hand pump is directly in the way of the hose/empty port connection. The vacuum release button almost doesn't work. The hand pump seems to be sufficient, but I just played around with it a bit. It has a half liter mark which is difficult to see (quickly corrected with a marker). Quarterly labeling would make more sense. It will take more effort to write this down. Considering this is a Taiwanese device that was built overnight, I wouldn't expect replacement parts to be available for long. Overall I would recommend it for light use. Don't count on replacing the gaskets after 5-10 years when the inner ones have rotted away. Do not mix brake fluid with oil. It's different and should be redesigned differently. As such, I do not recommend a brake bleed kit unless it is designed for that purpose (only DOT 3,4,5.1 fluids or only DOT 5). It's easy to use, but these are typical inexpensive tools that tend to hit or miss. Check it carefully before contaminating it with oil and Revain will not take it back. Mine works fine so I keep it to myself. Update April 2021: The seller has changed the photos for the listing. What you see above is not what I received and verified. The pumping mechanism is similar, but the housing is very different. Nylon tubing can easily kink and restrict flow. The adapters fall off and fit back with friction but still fall off fairly easily. In addition to the above, I have also used it to change oil in generators. It's still a much less messy method. Be careful not to catch the dripping pipe. Replacement tubes appear to be available, but we'll see.
