This USB 3.0 hub is so cheap you have no excuse to keep one of your old hubs. It gives you 40x the speed of your old USB 1.0 hub and up to 10x the speed of a 2.0 hub at a very affordable price. This hub is equipped with 7 USB 3.0 ports that offer transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. Each port has its own on/off switch in case you ever want to turn one off without disconnecting it. There's also a charge-only port at the end to charge your phone or other device without plugging it into your computer (this can be especially useful if you don't want to sync your phone with that particular device). I'm not a fan of blue "gaming" lighting, but it doesn't affect performance. You need power and the cord isn't particularly long (about 4 feet), so you'll likely need an extension cord to get from your desk to an outlet or floor surge protector. You will also need to plug in a USB cable that plugs into the device and connects to your computer or hub. Once you turn it on and connect it to your computer, it's truly plug and play. My computers recognized it immediately and connected all connected devices at USB 3.0 speeds. Mission accomplished!
