Review on πŸ”§ Hitachi 885807 Power Tool Pressure Reducer Replacement Part by William Byrd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It took some time - the effort was worth it.

MHMH1 2 cents ago My 2 cents - I've had a Lowe's EC 89 in my garage for more years than I can remember, for home use only. The manual was updated in 3/2011 so I'm not sure how long it was in use. The first thing to do was toggle the switch on/off, which I bypassed simply by plugging/unplugging the device. 5 days ago the regulator broke while loading the block in the garage. The handle flew out and hit me in the shin, leaving a pretty nasty bruise! I decided to swap both parts and found them at Revain at the best price. Removing the parts was the biggest problem and took the longest due to the age of the compressor. I used a PB B'laster and various wrenches and even my little vise to get everything apart. The only issue I had with assembly was the brass adapter that plugged into one of the pressure gauges on the regulator. I actually bent it into an oval shape at the top where the sensor went in. I was able to reshape it to do a few turns with nylon tape (which you use for all the threads when reassembling). After my test run everything is fine again.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative impression
