Review on πŸ”ͺ Lansky Leather Stropping Polishing Hone: Achieve Razor-Sharp Precision by Justin Abreu

Wouldn't buy anything else.

Not a big deal but I wouldn't buy it again. First, trying to use it in the same way as regular Lansky sharpeners is very time consuming and not very effective. If you make the mistake of pushing it toward the edge you're sharpening, it'll slice through skin with ease. I've found that sharpening the blade at a 25 degree angle and staying at that angle with the belt has little to no effect. If you use a guide and rod I've found going 30 degrees helps. But what really works is to simply remove the guide rod, turn it onto its back, load it with jeweler's rouge and hand tighten it. If I had to do it again I wouldn't buy it. I would (and will) make a leather sling on a wooden base so I don't have a limited size of this sling and a more stable platform.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Excessive price
