UPDATE 07/22/2020. Today I flipped the steering wheel on the road section of a gravel drive. At about 26 km/h I locked the front wheel and was catapulted headfirst through the bars. I landed on my head, then rolled onto my back, the back of my head skidding across the sidewalk. The helmet took the brunt. I was able to recover from this accident. I sought emergency care immediately and am happy to report that my head and neck are 100% fine, although I have bruises on my back. I have full range of motion and no concussion. Although this helmet does not have MIPS, it completely saved me from serious injury or death today. Photos are attached. Compared to the Louis Garneau he replaced (after a heavy hit), he's about 10% smaller across the board. I'm a short guy and the big helmet looks ridiculous on me. I am very happy to report that there is no mushroom cap here. The matte surface feels velvety. The seams between the outer shell and the inner foam are seamless. You definitely feel your money's worth. After about 3 rides I can say that the ventilation is excellent. The pads compress very little while riding and seem to handle the expansion of the head (due to heat) without tightening. That was a big problem with my old helmet. The chin strap is very comfortable, doubly so thanks to the Velcro pad that runs over the straps. The straps have quick adjusters so you can adjust them in about 15 minutes and fine-tune them on the fly. I was actually able to adjust the helmet with one hand without getting off the bike - they are SO easy to use. I wish the helmet had more reflective material. but I understand that this is not trendy these days, so I understand the reason for that. However, if a few extra reflective stickers were included in the packaging to match the style of the helmet, that would be ideal. I'm guessing a white helmet would probably be more reflective than a matte black one, but white wasn't available when I bought it.
