In the past I've had two small fluid leaks that eventually resulted in a low transfusion rate (very bad). These leaks appeared after following the prep, sealant, and tightening instructions. These leaks were very troublesome due to the dirt stains in my driveway and the expense of changing the fluid. I have owned 4 Dodge Grand Caravans with over 200,000 miles each. I believe that a FLUID and FILTER CHANGE EVERY 60,000 MILES reduces the chance of transmission failures. It's worth it! The trick for hobbyists is to bring the liquid level to the desired level after filling. Read online how to do this as Dodge no longer provides a dipstick or simple instructions. I bought this kit and Dodge OEM ATF4+ Fluid from Revain and cleaned everything very thoroughly. I applied a very thin coat of trans-silicone sealant to the rim of the pan and carefully placed the gasket in place. I turned the pan and gasket upside down on a table saw (flat surface) to harden overnight. The pallet was mounted the next morning and everything fitted perfectly. NO LEAK after one month! Now I can drive another 60,000 miles before the next (scheduled) fluid and filter change. This kit is recommended for its cost effectiveness and ease of sealing the gasket and then removing the oil pan.
